THE FOUNDER
Dear Friends,
It has been nearly 25 years since I began this journey, this tribute, this mission. In August 2012, the Society will celebrate its 25th anniversary. What started as a chance meeting and a gesture of goodwill, became for me and many others the reason for our appreciation and dedication. Please consider becoming a member and attending our network of James Baldwin related events throughout the year. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me directly.
Best of Baldwin to you,
Kevin Brown

Since that time, it has grown into an association of scholars, teachers, creative and peforming artists, students and others who have a serious interest in the life and writings of James Baldwin. Specifically, these kindred spirits share a genuine concern for meaningful research pertaining to Baldwin and his works and are committed to increasing the awareness and perpetuating the appreciation of James Baldwin as a major American writer of the twentieth century.
